Cardano knowledge-sharing marketplace

We are very familiar with the industry acronym DYOR (Do Your Own Research) and it often makes or breaks a coiner’s cryptocurrency journey. There’s a multitude of blogs, whitepapers, websites, news, YouTube vids and other online resources where people can dive deeply into the information surrounding a blockchain and its projects. Cardano alone hosts a bunch of information on the Foundation’s site, on IOG’s and on Emurgo’s not to mention on the homepages of the many 3rd party projects now slowly coming to life.

However, the fact these resources exist in many forms across many channels and platforms creates an additional barrier to learning more effectively and can often add to the confusion because of the siloed nature of content distribution, And as more of these information stacks are built, the harder DYOR becomes.

Let’s face it, some are great at DYOR but some are not. Some subscribe to TLDR (Too Long Didn’t Read) and simply rely on snippets and abbreviated information tweeted by a respectable member of the community while others glean info found on telegram, discord, etc. Often that is enough to get around in the Cardano ecosystem but its a level of participation needed a small amount of bravery and trust, which for some may not be enough.

All of the above is the state of affairs right now for the current members of the Cardano Community. However, the next few months and years will usher in hundreds of thousands if not millions more into our ecosystem. Their experiences, their journeys, their successes & failures will be so much more dependant on their knowledge & familiarity of all things Cardano compared to those of us who have been in this community longer who know quite a bit more and may have even been present as the knowledge is being built up. Still, most of us don’t know everything and knowing how things work can help overcome hesitation, paranoia, mistrust & disbelief.

Our proposal hopefully plays a part in overcoming this information vacuum for future and current members of the Cardano Community. Knowledge will not only foster a stronger community but also foster a confident and well-informed one.

Describe your solution to the problem?

Our team proposes to build a Cardano gig marketplace named KnowCardaKnow where the expertise and knowledge of a ‘Provider’ can be offered to a ‘Client’ who may want to acquire their services and gain information in a more personalised format for a fee.

This platform would be helpful to anyone not familiar with nor very good at DYOR. It would be helpful to users who learn better in a one-on-one scenario. It would be effective for an organisation who may need advice and guidance from an expert prior to making a commitment to participate. It would be helpful to anyone who may have snippets of information, yet still hesitate to utilise tools in the ecosystem and smart contracts in the ecosystem for whatever reason.

The ‘Provider’ and what is shared could be;

  1. A Plutus/ATALA pioneer who may either answer questions, give advice to a project, or be recruited into a project

  2. A well-known & respectable Cardano YouTuber with generalised knowledge who can answer many ecosystem-wide questions, sharing tips & tricks

  3. An experienced CNFT project creator who may want to impart knowledge on NFT creation and marketing

  4. A Catalyst Community Advisor/veteran CA who may wish to educate new CAs or new proposers

  5. A Cardano expert who may offer knowledge, advice or guidance to an organisation, a company or a project who wish to participate in the ecosystem

  6. An ordinary Cardano user who is familiar even with the simple creation of wallets, staking & send/receive which is daunting to a new user

  7. An SPO who may want to offer their services to configure, troubleshoot, or share knowledge on the business acumen needed to be successful.

The ‘Client’ can be

  1. a new participant in cryptocurrency

  2. A cryptocurrency vinegar unfamiliar with the Cardano ecosystem

  3. An organisation who may wish to learn more about Cardano

  4. An artist who may want to learn about NFT minting and its processes

As you can imagine, the range of who the Provider and Clients are represents the vastness of the Cardano trove of information.
